I thought I could handle some candy last week, well, I bought myself some red vines,, if it is sweet and chewy, I love it, anyway, I have eaten 3 servings a day since I bought them, finally gave them to a friend who has a bit more will power than I do, I had decided to take a month off completely starting in July, well, I am going to start today, oh I also had to give away a full bag of gold fish, I can't stop on salty either,
so really, I know the problem, just not the remedy.
any thoughts?

    I have the same struggle. The salty/sweet cravings. So far I haven't even pretended that I'm going to stop it. I just keep most of it out of the house and try to keep my snacking under control. It sounds like you are doing that pretty nicely yourself. But it is frustrating.

One of my SP friends says that she just went cold turkey, stopped buying the stuff, and now she doesn't crave it at all. I'm just not there yet.....

    yes, it is easier to resist something that isn' t handy. the snack machines at work are a problem for me. I have to get into the habit of not using the machine for even the healthy stuff it has to resist.

    I try not to buy the sweets but if I crave them and buy them I make sure I buy a small bag or box. Otherwise I try not to buy them at all - I look at them at the store & put them back.

I think you did well - just having a few and gave them away. emoticon

    I made some Brownies to take to a party but we had storms and the party got cancelled. Guess who ate the Brownies!

  I've thing you're doing great as everything in moderation. The fact that you only ate 3 servings at a time deserves kudos! You've found a solution and it's all in hoe committed can you be or wanna be?!?! Sometimes, when I feel guilty, I'll do enough to cover it in my exercises. Be mindful that too much salt causes swelling. Purchase the smaller size bags or the 100 calorie snacks.Waste not, want not! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
