Afternoon with the GC

Saturday, June 22, 2013

We put those 2 little ones through their paces. We spent quite a
bit of time in the garden after lunch. DH was burning garbage so
GS had to help with that. We pulled almost a full row of radishes
and cut off the black seeded simpson lettuce, the romaine and
the mixed variety. I would imagine about 40 feet total. The mixed
variety went into a 13 gallon garbage bag and it is full. I even
picked the spinach, in case it rains tonight.
DD and SIL just picked them up now. Home for supper and
both of them need a bath. They were pretty grubby after the
garden and the chores.
We are to go to a surprise birthday party tonight so I thought
I should blog now. Party starts at 9 so it will be late.
Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by. HUGS!

I'm SO happy that SOMEWHERE in America kids are still learning that eating REAL food takes determination and so pretty back breaking work...but it's SO worth it! I wish every school in America had a garden plot that kids worked for school credit...it is becoming a necessary subject and would benefit them GREATLY! emoticon

What a wonderful way to spend the day with your grandchildren, and what an great life experience and education they are getting in how food is grown. It's amazing how many of our children today don't realize that all the food that's in the grocery store comes from somewhere else.
Hope you have a great time at your party tonight! emoticon

Wow!! Lucky kids!! They have no idea that wonderful, blessed education they are getting!! How wonderful!! Yeah, I was wondering, too......do you eat all that lettuce or share it about the neighborhood or something? It's sure a lot of "bunny" food!!
So, a birthday party at 9pm......hmmmmm... must be a grown-up party that late! lol! Hope you had a great time and are having a super day today!! (((HUGS)))

I wish my family had done more garden work together like this. I can honestly say I wouldn't have a clue how to manage a garden. Your GC are lucky because they are getting an education that some of us never got.
