Lowering Blood Glucose

Saturday, June 22, 2013

I was really happy this morning because my blood glucose level was 142. I take Metforming 2x a day and have really been watching my carbs, though not perfectly. I tried taking less medication because of stomach issues and allergies but really need to keep on it for now. I hope I can use exercise and diet to eventually get off it.

Thank you, NHES220. I'm trying to up my walking but one of my knees gets pretty painful after a while. I have some good knee exercises from SPARK and I need to get religious about doing them.

Losing weight and watching your carbs (per meal) will definitely be the key. Also, I just read an article about walking and they say the key is walking 10,000 steps a day. That is the key to lowering blood pressure, cholesterol and losing weight which in turn will help you lower your blood sugar. I use the Fitbit Flex to measure my steps, but you can use any type of pedometer.
