I have decided to incorporate both my 3lb. and 5lb dumbbells in the workouts that I find them useful for.

What I learned today:

I need to slow down my movements in my workouts and concentrate how my postures (positions).

    Form is so important when doing any kind of lifting/strength training. I was watching a basic video on youtube about some movement with dumbells and the guy says "Like this....not like THIS" Guess which way I had been doing it?!? Probably why my shoulder hurts. Good for you for choosing to do it right!
