As I was watching my daily video from my SparkCoach session, I realized that during the summer I do not have a lot of daily sedentary activity. Nicole explained that by adding Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis (NEAT) to my day. By moving more, standing more, etc. I can add the amount of calories burned. This is quite an intriguing idea and I cannot believe that I have fallen into a trap of inactivity in my day. Unless I am doing housework or shopping, I have next to no N.E.A.T. IN MY DAY. I cannot believe how lazy I become in the summer. This has got to change.
So, today I will do my best to pick up the pace. I really loved Nicole's suggestion about squatting before sitting. People might think I am crazy, but adding 1000 squats to my year might make my booty less jiggly. This will definitely assist me in getting my lower body toned.
I am also going to see about making sure I get up and move every hour, whether it be to take the dog for a walk, walk around the house, clean, do laundry, whatever. I need to make a concerted effort to DO more.
So, today I am tracking my lack of activity and documenting how I can add movement. Any little bit will help and I believe I will begin to see more pounds in the loser column. That is an awesome thing!
Exercise, eating healthy, and moving throughout the day makes Donna a healthy, happy girl!!!!
