Ain't that the BEST way to start class?
So yes, my students (who I haven't seen in two weeks, thanks to the construction delays at the new studio) informed me: "Wow, we can really really tell you've lost weight!" And one asked if she needed a ticket to see the "gun show" (joking referring to my now-apparent biceps.) It's great to get some positive reinforcement for a change.
The new studio is nice. A little farther away from my house, but that's okay. There are three individual studios, so I won't have to fight the ballet dancers for space anymore :) My beginning class is beginning to get HUGE -- and they're doing really well, so I MAY end up having to move them up and start a new beginner time slot soon. WOOT!
My dance coach sent me the first couple of minutes of "homework" on Nebtidi, which is the piece I'm working on now, and I LOVED it!! He really does channel ME when he's choreographing for me, and it's amazing. So I get to work on that tonight, along with tearing analyzing and deconstructing the Ancient Ruins one. Lots of work to do, and Mom wants to take the baby to a summer social, so I hope I have enough time to do Tae Bo and still get in 2 hours of dancing!
Yesterday was day 2 of the Couch to 5K training, and it was hard, but I got through it. The training finished right at the 2.5 mile mark, but I did another lap and managed to walk/run (mostly walk) a total of 3.75 miles in about an hour. I am getting rather tanned on the arms from these jaunts.
I'm sad that the baby doesn't want to walk with me anymore (way too hot for him) but in a way it's nice to be alone with one's thoughts. It makes me reflect on how lucky I am that I have the life I do: one that allows me so much time for exercise, a husband who will cook, and a reasonably successful dance career. (And I get to spend that hour I used to walk with him just playing with him and laughing with him. He's truly an amazing little creature.)
