Day 8- No more energy

I got up to work out again this morning which Iím really proud of. 4:30 am is freaking early after a 13.5 hr work shift and then pizza with friends afterwards. Only had the fitness center to go to, biggest weights they had were 50lb dumbbells. Dumbbell press with that light of weight is rather interesting. Had to do 3x25 to work myself and it felt more like a glorified pushup than benching. This low weight, high volume stuff isnít ideal, but itís better than nothing and perhaps mixing my routine up a little isnít all that bad. I also did extra abs because why not?
After that, I got a breakfast scrambler from the Bistro with egg whites, ham slice, ate 1 half slice of wheat bread and just nibbled on the breakfast potatoes. Knowing I have Greek yogurt and strawberries to bring to work once I get hungry makes it easier to eat a smaller breakfast. And please donít judge me because of opting for the egg whites. I know the yolk is the most nutritious part of the egg, itís just that A) it is more a caloric decision for me, leaving room for fattier (delicious) meat with dinner and B) hoping that ordering the whites means I get 4 egg whites scrambled which is more protein than 2 eggs for after that little workout.
I was hungry when we went to lunch and we went earlier than days past. I couldnít decide at the BBQ place between the pulled pork and the ribs and saw they had an option for both so I got that, figuring half servings of each. Nope. Still a full plate of pork with baked beans and hash on the side, now with a half (quarter?) rack of 5 ribs on top. I ate all the meat and was surprisingly content, not overly full, so Iím taking that as a good sign that my body needed the full, meaty meal. Had about half the beans and just used the hash as neutral bites to taste test all their different sauces. Greatest thing about southern style barbeque is that itís mostly vinegar based instead of the thick, sugary stuff Iím used to associating with barbeque sauce. Meant the pork and ribs were still super delicious and not dredged in smokey, honey sauce.
We got back and since I donít get out of here til 7pm or later (and I didnít have a veggie with lunch) I grabbed a side salad from the cafeteria and put it in the fridge to save for 5 or 6 early evening. But I was still full and feeling good from the lunch so I went back to the trackers and swapped the ribs for something a little fattier. That doesnít bother me, Iím just trying to be accurate. With that decent lunch, Iím ok planning on dinner being a meat and steamed vegetables kind of meal. Maybe even something lean like fish or chicken unless we go to a steakhouse.
Then on the ride back, the guy Iím here with was being weird and didnít want to go anywhere and just left me the keys. I felt too awkward to go to an actual place by myself, and thinking of anything quick just didnít sound good. I was legitimately not hungry at all and completely exhausted after this long week and all I wanted was bed. I grabbed a fruit juice from the lobby just so that the natural sugars would wake me up enough to pack. I mixed a little with my last Greek yogurt and actually discovered a great way of flavoring my yogurt without adding sugar.
Today was good, but Iím just completely out of energy. Maybe next time Iím working 13+ hour days Iíll just bite the bullet and not work out or something. I think the getting up an extra hour early was what did me in. Hoping I can somehow recover to have some fun with friends this weekend.
