Day 93 & 94 Check In...

Sooo....I am doing the happy dance tonight!!! Just finished my last 10 hour work day and am now off for the summer!!!

Many of you have asked about how my fast went. On day 2 (yesterday), I started feeling weak and not quite right, so I went ahead and broke the fast for supper. It had been 48 hours so it was time anyway. I feel like I accomplished what I wanted. It was nice not having to worry about food for a couple of days. I was able to focus on other more important things.

Today was a really, really long day! Due to some kind of weird scheduling thing, I ended up working by myself for most of the day. The other secretaries finished up yesterday. Do you know how creepy it feels to be in a big old school all by yourself? Not mention that I finished all of my work this morning and still had 5 hours to kill! Fortunately I brought my tablet and loaded some books so I spent the afternoon reading. It was actually king of nice once I got over the creepiness of it!

Sunday is mine and DH's 23rd Anniversary, but since he is working on Sunday, we celebrated tonight. We had a wonderful dinner out and enjoyed spending time together! If you've read my blogs for a while, you know that I don't drink (just a personal choice...not against anyone else who does). It also might have something to do with growing up in a good ole Southern Baptist church! Anyway, I always order water now, but saw a drink on the menu that was a zero calorie non alcoholic pomegranate citrus drink that looked yummy. I decided to order it since it was a special occasion. Anyway, the waiter brought my husband's water and said my drink would take a little longer because they had to mix it at the bar! I said, "it is non-alcoholic, right?" He said, "oh yes, they just have to mix it there." DH was making fun of me because I was so afraid someone from church would see me and think I was drinking! It was kind of cool drinking something from the fancy glass, though! Fortunately, I didn't run into anyone I knew!

I will go back to my regular check in format tomorrow. I think my weight should have leveled out from the fast by then. I am feeling much better and ready to hit that goal of reaching the 170's before I go on vacation at the end of this month. I am so excited to be heading to the mountains and much cooler weather. my mom said it was 38 when they woke up this morning and has been getting into the upper 70s/lower 80s for the high! I love working out up there and usually do at least 2 to 3 hours a day! They have all kinds of fun family activities, like square dancing, line dancing, hikes, all kinds of exercise classes, and beautiful tennis courts set at the foot of the mountains (DS and I love to play!). Hopefully I will have much more interesting things to report to you while we're there!

I am going to pick kids up from camp tomorrow. I am happy to report that itty bitty made it through the whole week! Yay! I think it was really good for her to spend some time away from home. She is such a little homebody, and really a mama's girl, which I enjoy, but also know that it is good for her to learn to be a little more independent! Don't get me wrong, I'm going to be thrilled to see her and smother her with hugs and kisses when I see her!!!

Have a great day tomorrow my friends! I'm going to enjoy having all my chickadees back home again!

oooh, HOW FUN ! I LOVE the sound of all the activities you'll have a chance to do. Sounds like it would be good for your spirit, too.
I'm glad you came out on top for your fast. I've been thinking /praying about you.

Yay for itty bitty! emoticon emoticon I was VERY shy when i was young & clung to my parents. It's great she found the courage to do that.

Let us know how your next weigh in goes !

I wouldn't have liked the school abandoned , either. emoticon

Happy Anniversary and enjoy your summer vacation! My husband and I do enjoy our red wine, but have stopped drinking it during the week. I have to say, I may enjoy a glass on the patio tonight. Glad you itty bitty made it through the week at camp, a big step for her!

So glad your fast went well and you were able to refocus! Happy Anniversary! 23 years! So awesome! I can't wait for you to go on that vacation- I will live vicariously through you that week. I secretly love square dancing but haven't done it since I was a kid. I know I would still love it but can't really find that up here in Yankee-ville. (Don't get me wrong- I otherwise LOVE being a Yankee. Glad your DD made it and probably made wonderful memories! Have a great day 95! emoticon

I understand what you mean by the "drink", my husband is a deacon at our baptist church, and that would make me feel awkward, not to mention that I used to be a heavy drinker. Now just the smell of it makes me sick. Camp is great! We will be at family camp in just over a week! That will be fun, but those mountains sure do look serene! Glad the fasting went well and you sound in good spirit!
Happy Anniversary!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

emoticon Sounds like the fast helped.

I have to admit, I read the title of your blog and thought of / heard the song "School's Out For the Summer", made me smile.

A-h-h-h! I really enjoyed this blog. You sound like you are in a good place right now. Maybe that fast did you some good and you have lots to celebrate.

Enjoy your time off!

I've had to work by myself in the isolated wing of a hospital on the night shift--talk about creepy. But, like you, I got over it and it was fine (this was several years ago).

That looks like an excellent place to play tennis. I am glad you are going somewhere that is cooler for a little while. Those 170's better watch out. Itty Bitty made it, that is wonderful. My boys have shown no interest in our bible camp, I wish they would go, I think they would love it. It is way up in the mountains here. Happy anniversary. I totally understand your non drinking thing. I have had a few in my life, but they had to be very special occasions. Hubby grew up in the bar-literally-he had a hard time understanding my beliefs at first, but now he only has one on a special occasion too. His dad would take him to the bar after work and play pool. Sometimes I wonder how this good girl hooked up with that worldly boy. We make a good team though. 23 years is not something to sneeze at, I am so happy for you. We are among the few that can make it that far-we were 20 this year. Congrats!!!
emoticon Non alcoholic cheers to you!!

It sounds like you live a sort of idyllic life. I loved the image of your mild freakout at the restaurant when you knew the bar had to make your drink. Best to you, Glenn
