Quieter Week - Quilt Projects

Thursday, June 20, 2013

This has been a quieter week which has been nice. I have been very tired though. I am still very sore from the falls last week. I think I have a bruised tailbone and my right arm is very bruised. I have been walking on the treadmill in the morning until it stops which has been between 20-30 min. I also have been doing a couple of SP videos. I have to be careful on some exercises because of my injuries.

I feel frustrated because I am still on a plateau and I just can't seem to break it. I haven't decided what new goals to really work on. I am still continuing to exercise at least 30-60 min a day and to stay in my calorie range of 1500-1600 calories a day.

The Black Forest Fire is pretty much contained, but another fire broke out @40-50 miles west of us. Last night the smoke was very bad and we needed to keep the house shut up again. But today it was better.

Our refrigerator is still broken - they needed another part. The repairman won't be back here until next Tuesday. There is a good possibility it won't be fixable and we will get a new one.

Last week I made a baby quilt & matching pillows for a daycare client who just had a baby boy. She had given me an old train bumper pad which I took apart to make the quilt. There was no engine, so I made a new applique.

Also I made a quilt for a daycare girl. She is a first grader and wanted to learn how to make a quilt. She picked out the fabric from my stash I finished it this week. Her last day was last Friday.

Today I made a sundress and panties for my granddaughter's first birthday on Sunday.

Oh gosh, this doesn't sound good - hope you're feeling better by now. Just now getting caught up on reading the blogs that posted when I was gone. Sounds like you took a nasty fall! Always enjoy seeing the quilts, it gets me motivated to work on creative stuff myself! Hang in there, if you keep doing all the right things that plateau won't last forever!

So pretty!! You do nice work!! My DD wants to learn to quilt. (Like she has time, hehe haha) Praying for all those affected by the fires. Hope you stay safe!!!
Look, don't sweat the plateau!! You had been doing 120/day for quite some time and your body got used to that! It'll get used to this, too, so maybe when you do your 30 - 60 work it differently! Work it really hard for a couple of minutes, then work it easy for a minutes, then push it hard a couple of minutes, the ease up a minute and on and on till you've done your 30 or 60 or whatever! Maybe look over your nutrition again, too, but it's probably fine. Your body is just making you second guess yourself, but I know that exercise business......it works!
Really sorry about that frig breakdown!! How awful!!! And in the summer! I am having mechanical difficulties here, too!! Right before our Memorial Day weekend....the dryer died, so had to borrow a neighbors dryer to dry a big load of washed clothes. 2 days later, while washing a small load, the washer decided not to shift cycles and fill itself up and overflowed everywhere!!! UGH!! Still waiting to get them repaired !!
Hang in there, baby!! emoticon

You remind me of my grandma. She was a quilter, and from what I can see, she was a very natural person as I suspect you are. Nice to see your blog and the great picture of the two of you. Glenn
