I read somewhere you've only got 3 choices in life: "Give up, give in, or give it all you got." unknown
I think there needs to be one more..give it a rest. Sometimes life is just too demanding, exhausting, challenging, crazy.. and it is all I can do to make it through the day. My life has been like this for quite awhile but I know I can't quit. I've traveled the up and down road of weight loss too many times.
During these times instead of feeling like a failure for not losing anything or for not reaching goal,(even gaining back some
) maybe it is wiser to give weight loss a rest and make my only goal to hang in there and work hard at Not gaining the weight back by continuing as many good lifestyle habits as possible. This helps make it a permanent lifestyle change and it also gives my body time to stabilize and adjust.
Then when life settles down a bit or a "carrot" comes along like a vacation, or a wedding, swimsuit season... that could be the time to refocus, set goals and give it all you got.
Well this has happened to me. I've finally got my carrot (a vacation) and so far
it's going well. I've set up a challenge for myself with some goals and it all seems a bit easier now. I've got a great support group here in SP to help me and believe me, I need all the help I can get!
