HELP!!!

Thursday, June 20, 2013

I would like some advice. I am going through, cleaning out every part of my house for a garage sale. I have been hanging onto some jeans that are still in perfectly good condition in hopes of fitting into them again. Before I became pregnant, they were a looooooooong distance from fitting me again. I have had these things for YEARS. I am seriously considering getting rid of them, but the ultra cheap side of me says maybe I should hang on to them because clothes are expensive and I MIGHT fit them again. I don't want to lose a bunch of weight and be regretful of getting rid of them. But then again, I don't know what my hips are going to look like after my baby is born. I just don't know what to do. Any advice friends? emoticon emoticon

That's tough because I am the same way. I have a few pieces of clothing that are smaller; I've set them to the side for that one day that I might fit into them again. I definitely understand about the "not having to buy another pair of jeans" mindset. However, I'm a big fan of buying new clothes when I've lost weight because it's almost like a reward for my hard work.

It's a tough call, but I say ditch 'em. Buy yourself something when the time comes! emoticon

I don't think jeans ever really go out of style. Keep only a couple of the good looking pairs that really appeal to you and ditch the rest. Its a cross between saving money and something to wear when you DO lose the weight. But being a Mom is a full time job and you will struggle to find the time to fit a healthy lifestyle in as so many do. So it may indeed be years before you come close to that size. So many on this site have been struggling to lose the 'baby weight' for years. Ditching anything you can't use now is so liberating, but clothing rarely sales in garage sales.
Go with what you feel in your heart. I feel you really want to make and keep this healthy living change and that you will find the time to be successful at it, especially with a supportive spouse..

Here's the deal...you said they are YEARS old, you are pregnant so it will be at least a year before you could wear them again, since you were a "loooooong" way off from them before you got pregnant probably a bit more then a year realistically. By the time you can fit in them they will (still) be out of style, they probably won't fit your body right any more AND you will want and deserve NEW jeans!!!! I just went through this with myself and a friend for a garage sale. I have a 1 season rule: if I kept it over from last year and didn't wear it this year I won't wear it next year so instead of going in storage it goes to Goodwill. I too don't like to shop and really hate to spend money on clothes but I have to be realistic and who wants a clothing time line in their closet?

    Hi there! :)

If you don't think they'll become a fixation, then I think it's fine to keep them. Having a goal is one thing, but it's always important to remember that there's more to health than the size of your jeans!
