Day 183 (Back to 10 pounds gone!)

Thursday, June 20, 2013

Sooo... I stepped on the scale this morning and.... 2 pounds gone. During a binge a few weeks back I put on those 2 pesky pounds. But they are gone again!

I think my problem with losing weight is I was obsessing over it! I needed to get x amount of calories, x amount of fruits/veggies, x amount of water, x amount of work out minutes, etc. I just don't think I am the tracking type! Tracking seems to drive me crazy then I either gain weight or stay the same. Since I have transformed my SP page from weight loss mode to love myself mode I have lost those 2 pesky pounds. I am just going to enjoy life! And I have been and its working!

I made a new budget and this includes not eating out. So I am going to go food shopping today. I am going to make Skillet Lasagna (from spark recipes). I am actually excited about taking up cooking! I honestly haven't changed my eating at all really, so just going from eating out to home cooked meals should help a lot!

Today I am picking up the yoga mat from my mom's house. I would like to start a morning work out routine. I was thinking maybe 20 minutes of yoga in the AM to start my day. It always seems to put me in a great mood when I do it at night so I wonder what it will feel like to do it in the morning?

I went horseback riding yesterday. Just to work out Arthur, no jumping. He was a good boy. He had his feet done yesterday so they were very nice, I mean he got new shoes so it's kinda the same when we get new shoes lol! I read online that grooming can be a great light work out activity. So I took them up on it and spent 25 minutes grooming before I got on, rode for 25 minutes, then spent another 25 minutes grooming him afterwards and I let him graze outside since I promised him on Sunday. He looked so shiny and handsome , he looked like a statue! I got to the barn 6:20pm and didn't leave til 8:20pm. I spent 2 hours there! It didn't feel like it. There are a few extremely friendly barn cats there and it was really cute one of them sat on the tack trunk and stayed there while I was grooming and another one sat right next to me outside while Arthur was grazing. I never saw cats do that before lol! I am going to help out my trainer again this Saturday, I'm going to a horse show with her. And I have a lesson this weekend. I really want to start going with her to horse shows every weekend because I want to compete next spring and I think it would be really good for me to see those jumping courses and just get familiar with it. Also physical fitness is very important when you are competing. So I will have to work out at home in order to keep up with the competition. I guess competing is going to be my motivation to stay healthy!

Hope everyone is having a great week so far. Anything new with you? Anything you discovered about yourself?

I love that - "love myself mode"! I read somewhere once that if you don't love yourself at your current weight, you won't love yourself minus 30 pounds. It's probably true. Focus more on what your body can do than what you don't like.

OMG the Spark skillet lasagna recipe is soooo good!! and crazy easy to make. One of my faves right now is Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken - I make it like twice a week!
