You know those people who say "I hate it when I miss a run" ?

You know those people who are like "Oh I feel so awful today because I missed my exercise yesterday" ? Or they say, "I hate it when I don't get to run every day." ? And you just want to smack them?

Yeah, well I've become one of them. You may smack me now.

About the only thing worse than that is the person who's all like: "I get up at 5 so I can go running before work."

Okay, so shoot me. I've become one of them. And worse, I've become a ... (gasp) ... MORNING person!! AGGGGGHHHHH!!!!

It turns out the sunrise sunlight won't actually burn all the skin off my face, and getting up at the crack of dawn doesn't actually initiate the apocalypse. Who knew!

Am I getting up early to run? Oh heck no -- I'm not that crazy just yet. But I'm getting a jump start on my day, which leads me more time to play with my son in the afternoon, so it works out really well.

Yesterday was a good day for family health. Darling son went to Grandma's so Darling Husband and I could have a date night to go see Man of Steel and have a quiet dinner. (I did good with dinner -- grilled aztec shrimp with grilled veggies (I LOVE the way they grill them at this place) and no alcohol. Of course, I was starving when we hit the theater (MISTAKE!!!) so I ended up eating a small bag of popcorn (no butter/grease though). It was hard to estimate the calories on that, so I estimated high, which left me with no extra calories to spend on alcohol. I know, cry me a river.

But I didn't get to do yesterday's scheduled Tae Bo session, which bummed me out. Seriously! I guess I'm using my cardio to really burn off my excess energy and aggression, and I miss it when I don't get to do it. (Although I did stick with my resistance training plan and did weighted arm exercises, so woo-hoo!) So I didn't get my calorie deficit for the day, but Tuesday's deficit was huge, so I think it balanced out.

I checked again on the scale today, and yep -- I'm still down those 2 pounds. (I was worried I'd misread the scale, since I usually only weigh on Mondays and it's a possibility that aliens or burglars sneak into the house through the week and upset the balance on the scale. /Eyeroll.) So even though I'm crazy, there's 2 pounds less crazy this week.

In other news, we start classes again this week - FINALLY - since the new studio is basically finished. And tomorrow is Friday, which is awesome because it means not only pizza, but 3 whole hours of working out and dancing. I am so far behind on my homework for this most recent piece (I've had to steal time away from dance to study my ACE homework) that I don't even remember the music! Grr. My Flamenco teacher is calling me, saying, "We miss you and why don't you come to Louisville Sunday for class!" which I would LOVE to do, but I have so many irons in the fire right now, I can't possibly focus on anything else, no matter how much I love and miss it :(

    Not going to "SMACK" you because I can sooo identify with your blog. It's been almost 2 years now and (KNOCK ON WOOD) I haven't missed a morning run, become a morning person, and just down right love life.

Flamenco lessons, you'll get back in the grove!!
