Woo Hoo!

Thursday, June 20, 2013

I have used coupons for 34 years now. Sometimes I have been more diligent than others. I am now on a fixed income, so sales and coupons have become more important to me. I like the challenge of sitting at the table on Sundays, going through the sale papers and clipping coupons to go with them. I also have member cards to all the local stores. I like to keep track of how much I save.

I was curious as to how well I have done in June so far. The stores in the area have been having a prescription war lately and have been offering $25 in free merchandise for transferring a prescription. By transferring prescriptions, this month I have saved $200.00. Using my coupons, I added another $236.91. That's a total of $436.91! That's not taking into consideration how much I have saved by getting things on sale. I don't think I've ever had such a good month.

I have bought cleaning and beauty supplies, linens, comforters, towels and pet supplies. I have bought a lot of items that I will give as presents to my daughters. This a great because I don't have to do a mad rush during the holidays buying or wrapping gifts. I can sit back and enjoy the holidays more.

I probably won't have another month quite as good as this one. But I know I had fun shopping this month.

Wow! And I thought I was a good bargain hunter... you've got me beat by a mile... I keep saying I should keep track of what I save, but no where near this. I get a free $20 quite often, but not sure how often...I will have to be more diligent, it's even better when you know how much....

When are the girls coming home? Must be getting close....

That is an advantage of "big city" living. We have WalMart and two stores owned by the same company, they bought the competition.

I love to do that too! It's such a rush to get a good deal and when you add all those little coupons up they add up to big bucks! Congratulations!!
