TEMPTED TO WORRY

When we are tempted to worry and we give in to that temptation, we begin to search for answers to our problem rather than asking God to help. The worry will consume us and we won’t be able to get anything else accomplished. Satan wants us to worry. He wants us to think about what can go wrong and not think about what God can do to help. God wants us to give our burdens and worries to Him so we can continue to go about doing His will and allow Him to handle any situation that may tempt us to worry. Satan wants us to be weary from worry but God wants to give us rest.

Matthew 11:28 “Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.’” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we sometimes get weary from worry. We get tempted to worry about things that have happened, that are going to happen or that may never happen. Please remove the temptation of worry as we place all our thoughts on You. Please remove the temptation to worry as we put all our hope in You. Please remove the temptation to worry as we put all our trust in You. We know You will handle all things and thank You for removing this temptation to worry from our lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we allow things to worry us, we aren’t allowing God to handle them.

God knows what is going to happen so worrying isn’t going to change anything.

Worrying doesn’t make a situation better or worse. It only consumes us so that we are distracted from the other things in our lives.

Satan tempts us to worry about even the little things in life. That is why we need to be sure we give all situations to God to handle.

Next time we begin to worry about anything, we need to go to God in prayer. He can remove our worry and replace it with peace.

Philippians 4:6 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” (NLT)
