no shorts this summer

Thursday, June 20, 2013

they announced it. we dont get to wear shorts at work this summer. the last 10 years they allowed it. no reason was given. A month ago they announced we could if we made a $30 donation to a specific "charity". most people had no problems donating money, but did not like the organization that was chosen. The org is a politcial action group. it is really spiteful that they completly changed their mind. it was such a nice perk that didnt cost the company anything. Plus cooling costs are lower if people dont can dress cooler. It would be nice if all the bean counters could figure it out.

update- the part that ticked off leadership is that no one paid. some offered to pay if they chose a real charity.

Calling them "leadership", IMAO, is a euphemism; and my calling its a "euphemism" is yet another euphemism. The latter, I chose because you are blameless in this charade.

they do that to us to...we get to wear jeans once a week IF we donate. I usually don't think the organizations they choose are worth donating to, so I opt out.

Aw, that sucks. I'm assuming people actually donated, and they still took the perk away? That's got to be frustrating.
