First day back in the gym

I finally got over and back into the gym today. It was too warm to walk around the neighborhood and I had to go by the ATM & market. Hit the ATM then the gym for a 65 mins. on the treadmill, then the market. I only walked at a steady pace on the treadmill with 3.5 being my comfort limit. I stayed at that pace with a .5 incline and then lowered down to 3.3. Wasn't fast by any means but felt good to just walk along. I did start to get sore a bit about 25 mins. into the walk so that is why I backed off down to 3.3. I seem to do OK at that speed without pain in my right ankle (the one I had surgery on in Dec.). Will have to see how I feel later on tonight.
Jeff has been working on my car most of the day and he hopes it is fixed this time. We have had the A/C on since around 10:30am when it was already in the upper 70's with a slight Santa Ana wind (warm). Since the house is so well insulated and we have all new windows we are using the A/C a lot less then we use too.
I have a doctors appointment in the morning with a new family doctor. Ours retired a couple of years ago and I have been using my Rhumatologist on all paperwork as primary. He wants me to see this doctor to get established, which is good. Everytime I have been sick over the last 2 yrs I have had to go to a different doctor and haven't found one I totally like. Wish me luck with this one. TTYL

    Way to go listening to your body at the gym! Slow and steady easing back into it will keep you healthy and flare up free!
    That is great you need less A/C, a money saver! I would never consider ever using it here no matter how hot it gets -I just feel so good in heat, which we see very little of,
    I hope you like this new Dr. I realize I am extremely lucky having the same family Dr. since I was age 16!! I really fear the day when she retires, she is an awesome Dr. that has gone out of her way for me!
    Keeping fingers crossed your car will be finally fixed!

    You are moving along well! Glad you slow when you tired. Hope you can get the car going again:)
    I wish we didn't have to us our A/C as much as we do. We are at the bottom of a hill, tucked in nicely so the air circulation isn't very good. We are coming into some hot weather beginning tomorrow which means poss. severe as well. Have a good evening!!

    I'm so glad that you could go to the gym and work-out in less heat and emoticon on a super good work-out too! emoticon I have to tell you that I had a Chinese massage and I told her that I like to walk fast when I'm walking for exercise and she said that I should go at a regular speed for less injury. Hmmm, that was new to me and it does sound good with my right OA knee and my feet so sore from RA at times. So I think that you're doing really good!! And good luck with your new dr.! I hope you like him/her lots and lots! It really makes such a huge difference what we think of our dr., that's for sure!!

    Glad you made it to the gym and got a workout! Also, how nice that the house uses less electricity now that it is better insulated! That is just a great bonus, huh? Good luck with your doctor! emoticon
