To celebrate our 3rd anniversary and the completion of my Masters, my husband & I took a Caribbean cruise. It was 7 days and we got home on Saturday.
It was really fun (though HOT). We enjoyed the different spots on the ship and took some great excursions. We also had a room with a balcony and spent many pleasant moments just relaxing out there looking at the ocean.
Of course cruises tend to be dreaded from a weight loss perspective, and unsurprisingly I gained weight. However, it was only 3lbs. We tried to be conscious and intentional with our portions at the buffet, being content not to eat everything just because it's there. We also took the stairs instead of the elevator as much as possible.
Since we've been back we've gone for a walk every single day, and I've done my cardio & strength training every day as well. We also have a new meal plan we are trying out. We are both really motivated to stick to our goals, and we are spurring each other on because of it.
I know it's only been a few days, but I'm really excited. I have tons of energy. It definitely helped that we didn't go overboard during the cruise (pun intended), and that we were already taking steps to increase our activity level while on vacation.
