50 pounds down in 2013

Just noticed that I am 50 pounds lighter than I was on January 1st this year. A big Thank You to SparkPeople for facilitating my motivation and helping to instil healthier habits into my life.

    Thanks everyone for your encouragement.

I feel much better than I did. My fitness is mostly measured by how well I'm riding my bike and at the moment I feel strong, fast (for me) and like no challenge would be too much.

I do however have a history of depression and it comes back to bug me on a regular basis. Cycling always lifts my mood for a while. Sometimes it's only the thought of the 16 mile commute to work on my bike that gets me out of bed.

My weight varies by +- 5 lb depending on my glycogen store levels and hydration but it is the trend over time that counts.
