Catching Up On Things!

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

It feels good to catch up here again. We had a bad rainstorm here on Sunday evening and our internet modem was hit and we lost power. I'm thankful that was all that happened because driving around yesterday we found some downed trees that was also struck by lightning. God is truly amazing that my family and neighbors were protected from any major damage. That gave me some inside time with my husband and daughter Macey. We just got three new baby kittens (pictures coming soon). Two boys that we named JJ and Frankie, and one girl that we named Sassy. They are so adorable....but a handful. A few months ago I lost my two Labs and they have been a big void missing in my life. The kittens have certainly helped to fill some of that loss because they demand so much attention....and I love that.

This morning after feeding them I went for my usual 1 hour walk. I added some light running and I'm so happy that I did. I felt the need to really challenge myself but I didn't overdo it. Then it was back inside for 30 minutes of strength training. I'm finally able to sit here and relax and catch up a bit on things. I'm a little tired. I think it was because I didn't get much sleep last night. My phone ranged around 2:30 this morning with an emergency from my oldest stepdaughter. Things are fine, thank goodness. I look forward to getting a better nights' sleep later.

Storms can be scary. the damage can impact for days and cause a lot of problems. i will admit though i try to use bad weather as an opportunity to clean my kitchen.

Despite the 'challenges' of life, it sounds like basically all is well. PTL!

Got some good exercise today. Good job! We haven't had a cat in a long time, but we have 2 Boston Terriers. Our cat lived 21 years, and I miss her a lot. When she first passed away, I imagined seeing her everywhere - for a long time. I was just so used to her being there.
