So what to do??
No usual weekly visit to the grocery stores, markets etc.. this week. I simply challenged myself not to go
a) because I was low on cash
b) because I was lazy
c) because there's still food in my fridge and pantry, not a lot but hey
After reading a spark article on how to avoid food spoilage and grocery shopping for a small household, I told myself I just would not go this week. Instead, I will make the most of what I had left, which meant using and reusing the same foods but trying to be versatile in order to not be bored. Here's an example of what I did for today...
Eating smoked salmon for breakfast (it's a first)...lunch and probably NOT dinner (I still have tuna)
-whole grain baguette 62g: (these are great cause they come in individual packs and you bake them for 8min...warm, soft and crunchy)
-smoked salmon 30g (I had bought a huge packet that was on sale...
-garlic and fine herbs cream cheese 15g
-freshly pressed orange juice 3oranges with pulp...fiber
-hibiscus leaves tea
-garlic and fine herbs cream cheese crumbles...again...10g
- medium banana
The moral of the story is I measure all my food
My point really is: even when I think I have nohing left and I HAVE to go to the store, I'll think twice!
