I wasn't going to weigh this morning since I figured I'd be on the heavy side due to hormones, but I'm sure glad I did! It looks like I'm actually down 2 pounds! That 8 total pounds of fat lost so far! Woot!
(That wasn't actually going to be what I was planning to blog about this morning, but I couldn't help celebrating a bit :) I really have only Sparkpeople and my Mom and my DH to share this exciting news with, because I know if I mention it to anyone else, I'll just hear negative stuff.)
In any case, my big news for the day is that I started the Couch to 5K program yesterday! In case it's not obvious, I'm VERY excited about this, since I never really thought I would ever be "a runner" in my life.
The training for C25K wasn't as bad as I expected. The first couple of running intervals were tough, but after that, I kind of got into the swing of it and was actually sort of enjoying myself. I was surprised when it was over so quick, so I went ahead and walked the remainder of the 2.5 mile course.
Previously I had made it my goal to walk with the baby every day, but it's getting so hot out that he really doesn't want to go, and ends up crying during the last 15 minutes, so I think I'm going to spend that hour just playing with him in the back yard, and then I can do my C25K training when he goes down for a nap. Heck, I can even drive to a better running location if I want. This could work out really well!
Yesterday started day one of a 28-day bootcamp of resistance training for me, and I did a lower body workout that I STARTED to do with 10 pound weights, but couldn't finish with. I guess I'll try 5 pound on the next round and see how that goes. At least I DID the dang workout -- and it's only 10 minutes! I can commit to this. Seriously. Now I need to revamp my workout calendar ...
You know, being organized does actually make it easier to stick to a fitness program! :)
