Code red alert on my tv for incoming call? I never seen this before....

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

Yesterday hubby and I were watching TV and saw Code red phone call coming in, I thought hmmm never saw this before must be a new telemarketing ploy, didn't answer it. Then it showed up again and my hubby said you better get that so I did.
Well there was an accident in my hometown the other day that involved a man in a remote wheel chair, we use to see this man all the time he was severely disabled and could just barely run the remote and I use to say OMG it's so dangerous for him to be out with all these crazy drivers. I have to give him credit because he had no fear even when he couldn't drive on a sidewalk he'd be as close to the sidewalk as possible.
Well the unthinkable happened this week, someone hit him around 11:45 pm, not sure what he was doing out so late, I was always afraid for him because I was afraid he'd either get hit or be taken advantage of and not be able to fight back.
Well this person not only hit him but left the scene, this poor man was left behind and died an hour later. Now this was a very heavy wheel chair I mean it's kind of like my dads and I know for a fact his is tremendously heavy so you'd know if you hit it and a lot of the car was left behind so they believe they know the make and model.
So that code red alert was the police department on recording asking if you'd seen the car and that it would have substantial damage on one side and if you had any info to call them.
I never knew they even had such an alert system in place, but I know everyone in this town is really upset by this mans death.
So tragic to hear he got hit , but then to see that he was left behind like road kill is just unthinkable. I've been saying a prayer for this poor soul who lost his life. Is this what society has come to? that we can just hit an elderly disabled man and just leave the scene with no remorse as if you hit a skunk or a squirrel , just to leave him there like an animal??????????
God I swerve to not hit them and almost get myself into an accident because it would bother me if I killed a poor animal.
What is this world coming to? very sad person was probably texting or on the phone... just makes me sick... emoticon

We have the same thing in our area. We've been alerted about missing children over the phone. It really can bring a community together. Sorry to hear about the accident.
My prayers go out to this gentlemen's loved ones.

You have such a wonderful, sensitive, and caring heart. You are right - it was a callous act to run someone over and leave the scene. So human too.

If they get this person, they'll throw the book at them. A dreadful act of inhumanity.
