Grammy's preschool graduation tomorrow!

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

Yes, all good things must come to an end.
I have been pre-schooling my grandaughter, Lucy, who just turned 4, and my great niece, Sophia, who just turned 3 since last September.

We have had a lot of fun- mostly doing arts and crafts and learning to share and play nicely and to mind our manners and appreciate nature and reading lots and lots of story books.
Here's our Earth Day project (we paraded around the neighborhood and picked up litter).

We also went around and wished my (mostly elderly) neighbors Happy May Day!

Of course, we had to have some screen time.

William, 2 1/2, was happy to join the group in the early spring.

So tomorrow we will have a little informal graduation ceremony.
I borrowed a few little mortarboards and printed off diplomas and bought roses for them and we will celebrate the end of preschool.

I'll be sure to take pics of that, too.

loving the photos. they are all just too darn cute. How very good of you to do this. You do so many wonderful things with them.
I am praying that I get back on my feet in time to leave on Saturday to go to Disney World with the grandkids. if you read my blog I had a set back/flair up, whatever. I am really depressed but trying hard to be brave and push through this. I was tapering off the prednisone but after talking to the doctor this morning I have to increase it again. Oh well hopefully this shall pass quickly. On IV 24 hours now so that might help.
Happy graduation for the little ones.

When I was about 10 yrs old, Pete Seeger came to Lehigh Univ in Bethlehem, PA to perform for a festival. My dad, a professor at the univ was assigned to walk Pete around campus and get him to where he needed to be. A huge fan, Dad was thrilled, and took me along.

As we strolled, Pete would stoop over and collect bits of trash and either hold them or stuff them in his pockets. When we'd get to a trash bin, he'd unload. He never commented on what he was doing - he just did it.

I have always admired him for his 'practice what you preach' attitude and actions, and I admire you, too! Thank you for teaching values to these children!

Aaaww!! How sweet. I love that you picked up litter with the kids on Earth Day. That's when I became more concerned about the environment and how people treated the earth - by picking up litter when I was 10 yrs old (with my class) behind the drive-in movie theatre.

They are just beautiful. So amazing to see them through their preschool and still always a little bummer that they just keep growing up so darn fast! Faith had her last day of 4th grade today.

Have a wonderful graduation. Congrats to all of you. emoticon emoticon
