Procrastination Bug

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

I've been bitten by the infamous procrastination bug.

I've been avoiding writing my statement of purpose (for my grad school application) all day.
I did get up early again today (Day 3!) and I went for a 4.5 mile walk this morning. I did edit and upload my writing samples for my application. And I researched more about the course lists and professors that I might be studying under... But I still haven't written it... Instead I surfed the internet, stared at pinterest, and painted my nails. And I've had all day to do it... Bad Self! Don't do that!

Okay. So, procrastination is over. Turning off the music and internet until my first draft is written out on paper.
It'll take me a while of obsessively going over each sentence, searching for the ideal word choices. So Goodnight! I'll see you lovely Sparklers tomorrow!

I obsess over word choices too, so I feel your pain. Writing papers and statements and stuff like that take me forever, so I usually procrastinate for them too. You can do it though!

Good luck with your application. I always found writing intimidating. Sometimes the best thing is to just write anything that comes to mind. Often once I start it just begins to flow. I love computers because it is so easy to go back and correct or expand on your thoughts. Anyway keep up the good work on improving your health. It is definitely worth it.
