Gluten Intolerant - Deli Meat

I expected to see a loss on the scale since I had eaten so friendly yesterday. It was not to be. I was up by 0.5 pounds!

I went over what I had eaten and I think I discovered the culprit. For my morning snack I had put a slice of chicken lunch meat (deli thin) in a romaine lettuce leaf with 1/6 ounce of cheese. I had 6 of these. The lunch meat was the only processed food I ate yesterday. I checked the packaging and sure enough... there at the bottom of the ingredients .... coated in seasonings (including flour)!

I'm going to have to go back and check the ingredients of everything that's in my fridge and freezer. I am so frustrated with these weight gains.

    emoticon Hopefully it's a very temporary gain. Fortunately I'm OK with gluten, but I do sympathize. It must be very trying. It is still only a number though, it doesn't mean that you've actually gained any fat, only that the gluten is having its effect. emoticon

    I hope you are finding your journey to gluten free becoming easier! There are so many options available today that such a short time ago weren't there for our use. That being said, it is so hard to change our way of eating even when we know it is for the best. Continued success to you in finding what makes you feel good and gives you the results you are looking for on the scale.

    Weight gain is data! As frustrating as it is, you are learning along the way. Processed food is the worst for hidden ingredients :(
