Akumal Vacation

I just returned from an amazing snorkeling vacation. Seven days and no rain. Beautiful beach and an all-inclusive resort. We snorkeled with sea turtles every day. It was amazing!

I had been so stressed and busy at the end of the school year, my nutrition and workouts were not the best. As a result, my beach body was not the best either. However, once I arrived I was relieved to see many middle-aged women with bodies like mine. Reassuring, but it made me wonder... Why is it so hard for us to make progress?

My weight has stayed virtually the same for all of 2013. Regardless of diet, exercise, and a week at an all-inclusive. It seems like the body has just decided what weigh it would like to be. But I do not agree. For me, my arthritis is less painful at a lower weight. I like the strength I have when I am working out that makes it easier to do every day tasks. I am determined to do better this summer, so I will be at my best when school starts!

    Glad you had a great vacation! Snorkeling with sea turtles is the best! I had a great time doing that in Hawaii last summer and hope to do it again.
My body likes to hold onto calories as if we're in for a huge famine. Sparking helps a lot. When I track my food accurately and religiously I lose weight. Hang in there and keep Sparking!
