Weird food?

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

Does anyone else find themselves eating weird food combinations to meet the daily requirements?
Tonight I had noodles (because I REALLY fancied them), tuna straight from the can (to get my protein up), and mango (to get an extra freggie). Tasty.

I love salty, then sweet, then salty, then sweet again etc. And this can be repeated many many times... It ends up in many weird combinations but it leaves me so happy emoticon

OMG yes it happens! Calorie limits force you to eat weird combinations of foods - but unless you try them you won't know if they're like... WOAAHH or EWW!

Sometimes you have to eat what is available. I keep tuna around because I like it a lot. Tuna noodle casserole is a favorite. Never thought of adding mangoes. What about chutney?

Whatever I'm missing becomes my bed time snack....and it IS weird to eat a (tiny) can of tuna right before bed.

Sounds Asian. There are plenty of sushi rolls that use mango as an ingredient. They are some of my favourites.

As for weird combinations, in the pursuit of increased protein and green vegetables I had "egg salad" made with chopped hardboiled eggs, cottage cheese, and curry powder mixed together and served on a bed of baby arugula (rocket).

Sometimes, but in cases like yours I'd put the tuna in the noodles and call the mango dessert LOL Not so weird that way!

No, I don't track my nutrition at all, I assume it'll even itself out over a week.

Actually, that sounds like an interesting combination. I find myself adding black beans or chick peas to almost everything to get my protein and fiber counts up. Chick peas are great in tuna salad and I even add them to canned soup!

That really doesn't sound weird at all.

Which I can see may make me sound weird...
