ADVICE PLEASE

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

I have no idea what I am thinking... what HE is thinking. Joey decided he wants to juice... I like juice. I'm cool.... This man has never ate a veggie a day in his life so what does he do??

HE GOES TO THE EXTREME... He is doing a 5 day juice cleanse. No food... 6 juice meals a day... Water and coco water. That's it. INSANITY if you ask me.
I'm glad he's getting healthy stuff in him and he says he is liking it but OMG... this cannot be healthy.

I replaced dinner with juice to go along with him... motivate him. Support him! I have been eating healthy though and exercising but this Is crazy to me. He is doing it so he can detox the bad out but also because he wants to lose but not work out....

Is he crazy or am I overthinking this??

crazy? possibly... but it's a common "solution" that's sold to people these days, so I'm not surprised.

will it hurt him? possible... he could sugar crash and have low blood sugar symptoms like irritability and shakyness... but you won't starve in 5 days time and at least he'll be hydrated (you can suffer more dire consequences much sooner by not having enough water) I can't imagine it would do any serious harm, although I doubt it'll "detox" his system either.

I will say that reacting in a shocked tone likely won't change his course of action, let him do what he wants to do and maybe start to gently suggest some more moderate approaches. Hard and fast doesn't usually pan out so well if you ask me.

    Martine,

That's what started him on this... Fat sick and nearly dead. He said it changed his life.

If it works to get him motivated then so be it...maybe it will give him a boost. It seems to work for some. A friend of mine did and it and lost but she couldn't maintain it..it just wasn't a lifestyle she could continue. Another friend of mine has just started after watching the documentary 'Fat Sick and Nearly Dead' It follows one man in his quest to lose...and he did... 100 pounds

5 days won't hurt.. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Thanks... I am trying not to and I am trying to support him but his health is a concern now and it bothers me because I do not know if this is good for him or not.

I am keeping a close eye on him. Thank you

It's only for 5 days. Maybe it will kickstart some big change that's more sustainable going forward? Maybe??

Don't let yourself get too bogged down by it. It will be over before you know it! :) Good luck!
