Yes, you read that right, somehow I missed logging in yesterday!
I was on & off participating, but never actually logged in.
Anyway back to Day 1
Muscle vs. Fat.
I keep seeing over and over again on the boards that muscle weighs more than fat. Muscle (in general) does not weigh more than fat (in general). Muscle is more dense than fat; therefore, you want more muscle than fat on your body. Saying that muscle weighs more than fat is like saying lead weighs more than feathers. Nope. A pound of lead is the same weight as a pound of feathers. One is just more dense than the other. I know, new concept because you may hear often that muscle weighs more than fat.
For me, being on SparkPeople is more than just losing pounds. It is choosing a healthier lifestyle. It is building a stronger body. It is eating better foods. It is making better choices throughout the day. It is learning how my body reacts to certain things.
I can lose the weight by just eating smaller portions of junk and still have too much fat on my body. Or, I can build stronger muscles, eat real food and keep up with my cardio plan to lose the fat, gain muscle and become a better me. I choose option Me!
