Snakes!!! Why did it have to be snakes!!!

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

Yesterday when I was watering the garden, a small rattlesnake made his presence known, rattled, curled up in a ball and did not appreciate being watered at all. I was frightened. emoticon I dropped the hose and high tailed it emoticon around the back of the house because I was scared. emoticon Left the hose running. Got my Dad to come down and open the back door. I am pleased to report that old glass door lock does work and wouldn't open until he unlocked it. I hastily called my mother to tell her not to come home after work until the snake was relocated. Then we called a rattlesnake removal company, they were close by and were here within 30 min. (maybe less.) I felt like a fool emoticon . I was so scared and hyped up on adrenalin. emoticon The nice man that fetched the snake was so sweet and nice about it, he made me feel like much better. He said that the snakes have a large variety of markings and not to feel bad about it at all. He was so nice.

But, I was keyed up. I stayed up later than I should looking at cat videos on the internet emoticon I may buy myself some chaps so I don't get bit by a snake and some boots. emoticon

The guy that sprays for bugs is coming this morning to spray our ants. I hate ants, they make me nauseous from their chemical trail. Really sick to my stomach.

I am proving to be a total wuss this lifetime. What a wimp.

I should workout today. I don't feel like it yet. I'm thinking boxing and Taebo. After our erstwhile bug sprayer leaves I may go to work in the afternoon or I might go to the movies.

I've spent nearly my entire life in Alaska, and have only ever seen one rattle snake. So, naturally I have no aversion to snakes in general. Of course, the one time I saw one I went and hid in the family camper until we headed back out on the road. emoticon

I wouldn't feel bad about being afraid of a poisonous snake. It would scare me too and I'm not afraid of snakes in general.
