Doctor's Warning

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

The heat wave and haze in Malaysia is set to become worse! One doctor has warned us not to exercise if we have a chronic condition, like asthma or a weak heart. It was on the news last night. I think I qualify bcoz I'm on dialysis so I'm not exactly in the prime of health either. But if sweating buckets or getting dizzy in the middle of a cardio session and fainting doesn't appeal to me. I will at least wait till it cooler during dusk to get a walk in at least.

I'm not going to take the doctor's warning as an excuse NOT to exercise at all. But I will tone down the intensity. This is bcoz I've been getting dizzy spells recently and my blood pressure keeps dropping periodically for some strange reason!

I REALLY pray that the weather will get better soon! And the haze will disappear!

emoticon Yes, I'm praying for your weather to cool down. This does sound worrisome. Can you exercise indoors? And, I want to encourage you to talk to your doctor about the dizziness. Please be careful and take good care of you. emoticon

You need to tell your doctor and let him know about the dizzy spells and as you are not able to drink allot of water because of your condition you have to be careful about all your liquids that you take in. Also have you tried freezing the water so that you can slowly drink it all day? That is what my late husband told his sister and she goes to dialysis too

I am also praying that the weather will be better soon. I think the heat is getting to me too due to the fact my chest is feeling uncomfortable for the past couple of days.

Take care & have a fabulous day! emoticon

You know what would be a really awesome summer workout? Swimming. Easy on the joints, total body workout, and you don't get over heated. That's what I did for a workout when I was pregnant with my son in the middle of a hot summer. I just had to remember to wear sunscreen. The only caveat with that is that you have to have access to a pool. My in laws had one in their back yard at the time (they moved and so did we, so its not available to me anymore). I've heard of classes that work on strengthening the body in gentle ways. I think a lot of therapy places use this method. I work at a facility for seniors that has a pool. The residents swear by it as the best workout they can get.

I hope it cools down soon. Is there a way you can exercise indoors? Maybe you could do that until the heat breaks.

Wow, that must be bad. Just be wise with your exercises. Just move your body but make sure you are not heating up too much.
