The thing I now have to do besides exercise

For my entire weight loss journey I have been on my own. For 10 months last year I was in a relationship where I was ignored, at best. Then I was single for 2 months. Then in a long distance relationship for 5 months. My time was my own. I had nothing to come home to, so going to the gym 5 times a week was no problem. I wanted to be there, I loved going and I looked forward to it every day.

A month ago my then boyfriend (now fiance) moved to be with me and we moved in together. And all of a sudden I wanted to be home because that is where he was. He hasn't been working (he starts next week) so as well as WANTING to be at home with him I felt guilty about going to the gym. He would insist I go, but I felt bad that he had moved up here and he was at home all day by himself while I worked and went to the gym. So I backed off the gym for a few weeks.

Now I am struggling to find the right balance. I want to workout since I love it, but I want to be at home too. I think I have found a good plan, and now I just have to see if it works. Step one of the plan is meeting with my trainer and getting a short weights workout. Just the essentials, quick and dirty, so I can spend less time at the gym. If my workout is 20 minutes instead of 45-60 I am more likely to go and do it. I have joined a new class which is a 30 minute circuit class, and I am enjoying both the content and the short session.

So, after rambling my new timetable will look like this

M - Boxing (60min)
T - Power Play (30min)
W - Boxing (60min)
T - Weights (20min)
F - Off
S- Spinning (60min)
S- Off

I'm hoping this plan will work for me, and for my new life balance. Luke is wanting to join the gym in the next few weeks, so that will hopefully make it easier for me to go. Even if we do different things I won't have him at home waiting for me, so it will be easier for me to actually go and do my workouts!

    I sounds like a great plan! And, Luke has found a job? That's wonderful! Congrats! I agree with everyone else. Encourage him to come to the gym with you. Find one or two things you can do together or at the same time. It's a healthy thing the two of you will be doing together!!

    Trying to find balance in your life is difficult...wanting to work out and be with your fiance...part of a healthy relationship is a healthy you....take care of yourself at the gym (you know how great it is to relieve stress, and, makes us feel all over great), your plan sounds great...good luck to you

    Looks like a good plan. I love going to fitness classes and runs with my husband so I'm sure it will be easier once he joins the gym. I hope you find a good balance soon :-)

    Good luck finding that balance. It's definitely hard, but the earlier you find it the better off thigns will be in the long run.
