Unexpected Pain

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

I am in pain today.

Shortly before my walk last night I was searching for something and heard a pop in my back followed by some pretty severe pain. I still decided to go for my walk because I have read here on Spark People that walking is good for back pain.

Well, I am still in pain.

I have no idea what happened and I am not even sure who to ask for help. My family physician? A chiropractor? A friend? Do I just wait it out? Do I walk more? Do I stay still?

This is a new experience to me and I really have no idea what to do about it.

If you have a good chiropractor, I'd start there. If I told my chiro that I heard a pop and experienced pain, he'd do tests (like mine did yesterday) maybe even an exray before he would even touch my back.

I sure hope you find relief.

I would also see a chiropractor first. Back pain should not be ignored for long.

If something popped and you are in pain, it might be best just to rest for a few days. Then go back easy and gradually. Working through pain would not be recommended by most fitness trainers or PT's. Glenn

I know there are days where I have back pain and I can usually work through it. But if you are in a lot of pain and feel something really isn't right, definitely the chiropractor is the way to go. Hope it feels better soon!
