Watching TV

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

I had time today to watch a few hours of TV. I love science fiction, so that is what I tuned into. Towards the end, I was starting to feel some anxiety creeping up. So I turned off the TV, though I was in the middle of a show and took a needed nap. When I woke from the nap, my anxiety was gone! Woohoo! Now I am sparking and feeling well!

    Dear Steven,

They say television itself produces anxiety. When you are a sensitive person it is more apparent than if you are not so guard yourself against the negative affects of the boob tube.

Maybe you can watch ice shows or dancing with women's beautiful bodies...lol? emoticon

I love to read but an alarm bell goes off when I am reading too much. It often means I am trying to escape and I have to stop and inventory to see if I need to take care of something. I am glad you identified your anxiety and need for changing gears and getting rest.

Can't handle some of the sci-fi movies/shows. The television seems to be on the syfy channel quite a bit. Even though I don't see the television from where I have my computer located I get anxious just hearing it as background noise so I have to go into another room.

Hey, my friend, you are learning to beat this anxiety monster. For me, I cannot (and will not) watch long news programs -so much violence, etc. As for TV, I watch old comedy shows, laid-back movies or sports. So much better than getting wound up in the violence on TV today, whether real or fictional. Have a super day!
