Insurance do I need to say more????????????

Okay, I'm upset because this year we got money taken out of hubby's check so we could get that health visa so when we go to the doctors we can pay our 900 dollare deductible without it hurting so much.
Okay , so I got a bill for when I thought I was having a heart attack and went to my general practioner and had a EKG there , so waited for it to go through insurance because they give a discount if you stay in the pool of doctors. Hubby went and paid the bill , now the stupid Visa account wants proof that it was from an office visit and ekg...
You know we did it this way so it would be less stressful and it's actually more stressful! I guess the person didn't key it in right when they did the payment or something I mean they can see it's from a medical physician.
They are really trying to make it so you don't want to see a doctor, I'm so fed up! I know many who try to cheat the system, but I'm not one of them , they should try to catch the people who are doing wrong and leave the ones who aren't alone!
Now I have to get paperwork , write letters and claim forms or they'll send me the bill, go figure!

I live in Canada. What I am reading both above and below is shocking to me. We do not have these kinds of issues in our country.

It looks like you will need to do the paperwork on this though. It sounds like the left hand is not talking to the right one - a common problem when dealing with large bureaucracies.

I know what you mean. I had to go to the emergency room last year and the hospital had switched the company that was providing the emergency room doctors. It turned out that they were out of Pittsburgh, so they were out of network, even though the hospital is right in our little home town. The doctor's company was saying that we didn't get a discount, but my insurance was saying we did. I went round and round with them for months. My insurance kept telling me that I only owed a certain amount and the doctor's were saying I owed triple that. I kept thinking it was taken care of and then I would get another bill and then the whole thing would start all over again. This went on for six months and then they sent me to collections. I was so mad. I called my human resources person and then the hospital and it was the two of them that finally got it resolved. It is so frustrating when these kinds of things happen. I hope you get it worked out soon. Sorry you're going through this. emoticon

I deal with insurances every day on my job. I cannot take it sometimes because they determine a lot of times what the insurance will pay for . Instance when we have people that have been on a medication for months or even a year the insurance will suddenly say they are no longer paying for it they must go on another one & they will name about 3 of them . So many of our patients when switched the medication does not help. How can an insurance company dictate what a Doctor prescribes. Then the insurance will say they have to stay on it for a while, then the doctor has to write clinical notes to the insurance telling them why they must stay on the first prescribed medication. When I had my insurance from the company we had ( husband & I ) each a $5000.00 deductible. Gary had to go to hospital for a week & I was in emergency room going through all kinds of testing. Our total out of pocket expense was $8000.00
One night Gary came home & handed me a package, I opened it & here his company offered insurance from Geisinger we only have a $500.00 deductible each. i sat there & cried, I was so happy.
