day4 and low carb

well i have been low carb for 2 days now and not feeling too bad either.I am reading the atkins book a few people asked and you can't eat fruits at first on this diet.thanks to the people who helped me on my first day of counting I did much better today!!I have also today become the leader of the accountability team that I was a co-leader of. Lois has stepped down and left sparkpeople- I will miss her greatly!!!Everything is going well and now we will just see how the low carbs work for me. I am a big sweets eater so I really think I will see a change in me and also maybe see the scale move for a change- that is what I am praying for.Today was a beautiful sunny day here in Pennsylvania and it was great.Hope you all have a great week.love you all as always-Lu:)

    I AM A BRITTLE DIABETIC. MY ENDOCRINOLOGIST HAD SUGGESTED GOING HIGH PROTEIN AND LOW CARB SEVERAL YEARS AGO. MY CARBS ARE ALL THE GOOD ONES - LOTS OF VEGGIES AND SOME FRUIT. BUT I EAT VERY LITTLE BREAD, ROLLS OR EVEN CEREAL. I HAVE GONE FROM 354 TO 204 EATING THIS WAY. IT TOOK A LONG, LONG TIME BEFORE I QUIT CRAVING THE CARBS. NOW I DON'T MISS THEM AT ALL. IN FACT, I HAVE TO FORCE MYSELF TO EAT A BOWL OF CEREAL. I WONDERED WHAT THIS WOULD DO TO MY BLOOD VALUES. BUT WHEN LAST TESTED, EVERYTHING WAS RIGHT ON THE MONEY. JUST DON'T GET SUCKED INTO BUYING ONLY ATKINS PRODUCTS. LOW CARB IS A WHOLE LIFESTYLE WITH REGULAR FOODS. CHECK ON AMAZON FOR A BOOK IN THE GLYCEMIC INDEX PORTION THAT HAS A TRAFFIC LIGHT ON THE FRONT. IF YOU CAN'T FIND IT, LET ME KNOW AND I WILL FIND IT FOR YOU. IT TELLS YOU EXACTLY WHAT YOU CAN AND CAN'T EAT AND IS SMALL ENOUGH TO TAKE TO THE STORE WITH YOU.

I have to eat low carb because of my diabetes - it is a wonderful way to live - after a week or two you will feel so much better without all those carbs in your body!

    Good luck with the low carb! I'm a big fan of Atkins. Eventually your sweet tooth will level off.
