I ran a short run tonight. I ran 3.03 miles in 27:35 which made a 9.06 minute mile. I can live with that! I did a long warm up and walked the first hill. My IT band felt pretty good and I really debated on running the same distance that I did on the 15th, but decided to go easy, but pick up the pace a bit.
I took the younger daughter back to Peak Performance to get different shoes. After she walked around the house, she said they felt too tight width wise and not quite long enough. She tried on a couple and ended up with the Saucony brand.
The lady that helped us was a marathoner. I told her what I was doing for my IT band, using a tennis ball to really massage it and use ice, too. She said that is what her son's PT told him. It must be working because it didn't hurt. It was only slightly nagging.
