Today was hot, and the A.C. in the van quit working again. I went to my spine orthopedic surgeon for follow up to the emg, and I guess there is no new nerve damage. I was not really happy with the EMG doctor's inadequate report, but glad nothing new has shown up. (The EMG dr didn't even send my doctor the full report, and I never got the report.)
Actually, considering everything, my back has been a bit better (knock on wood), since the allergy thing is kicking my butt. My medications are being adjusted. I am curious as to whether time is healing all wounds, or if it is just that summer has hit. I am curious as to whether when I get past the congestion, the allergies, the coughing, the dizziness and can get back to better exercise (other than walking) whether or not my back will kick back in pain again.

Over the weekend, my husband made me gluten free egg free "nan" bread like a pita pocket. I adapted a gluten free egg free mayonnaise recipe, and it tastes similar to miracle whip. I also made my own gf, egg free french salad dressing. I made my oat flour/rice flour banana bread with yogurt instead of eggs, and some chocolate chips. I made them into muffins this time, and they sunk in the middle. They were still good, but I find them too sweet. I plan to lessen the sugar in them next time.

I read labels all the time. I am eating less. Yesterday we went out for Father's day, and my lunch was a Greek salad with Feta cheese. I do not remember my supper though.

Today - breakfast apple oatmeal and coffee
lunch - thin ham and cheese roll up. water.
dinner - braised marinated boneless pork chop with onions, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes and salad. I couldn't finish and set it aside.

I believe Onederland will come into view soon.
Tomorrow I work. Same with Thursday and Friday.
Wednesday I see my grandson.

There have been stressful situations, as well as the heat in the van today, and at the dr. my blood pressure was a little up. Pooh.
Getting healthy IS my job.
Time to go breathe, unwind and relax.
Have a good night.

Glad there was no more nerve problems. Have you tried yoga for your back? Generally back pain stems from underdeveloped core muscles (abs).

I have vertigo and arthritis, and recently had back, neck and knee problems and was diagnosed with patellofemoral syndrome. My doctors prescribed pain meds and physical therapy. The PT helped a little.

But what really helped was doing yoga. I started off with Barkan yoga which is like hot yoga except in your own home. And then I graduated to Power yoga. If you get dizzy doing the poses, you can skip the ones in which your head is inverted like downward facing dog. Just do the others. Especially good poses for the back are: Bridge, Cat, Locust, Bow, Camel, Cow and Fish.

Also whenever you bend forward (to pick up something from the floor, etc.), breathe deeply, hold in your abs and stretch upward before you bend down. This will prevent your back/spine from getting crushed which aggravate the back.

I hate it when medical personnel take short cuts. I too, got the barest of verbal reports from my bone scan from my surgeon and so asked the secretary to mail me the complete report to me and my immunologist so I could get the 'rest of the story' Considering what a bone scan is worth, the equivalent of 400 X-Rays, I wanted my money's worth for what my body went through!! Is there any chance you could request your full report? It should be your right to do so. I am comfortable with medical terminology as I have seen it most of my life and even took an University anatomy course and a medical terminology course later to cement it.
Label reading is vital for sure. The less processed stuff you eat, the way better it is. Would like to see more raw fruits and veggies in your diet. Fruits, especially the berries are those antioxidant power houses. I love my fruit smoothies in the morning, spiced with ginger for added boost.
Is your pollen season just about over yet? Ours was shortened with all the heavy rains over several days bringing the junk out of the trees and washing it away a lot quicker. It was just yellow in places for a while!
Hope you start to feel better soon, those symptoms are so hard to deal with all at once.

Glad there was no new nerve damage. Sounds like you are really learning how to adjust and make things that will not affect your allergies. I have to applaud you for your diligence.
