Hike and Rock Climb

Monday, June 17, 2013

Some friends offered to take me with them on one of my favourite hikes to Needle Peak. I like it because it is a medium hike, about 3 hours to get to the top, and at this time of year it has snow to slide down on. Plus the peak itself, being all rock and sticking up like it does, has no snow at the top and the scramble up the rocks to get up is so much fun.

Almost at the top there were clusters of hundreds of lady bugs. I don't know why they are there, kind of mysterious, but there they were.

After the hike, it was 2:30, so we drove towards home, stopped for an ice cream, then went to some rock cliffs close to the lake to do some short pitch climbs. I like rock climbing but haven't really done much of it, plus I had no equipment it was so nice to be able to go with them.

Same pitch from a different angle, my friends got all the way up this rock

I had an awesome time, all day in the beautiful outdoors, I got home at 8pm
