Am I too old to run?

Monday, June 17, 2013

I'm 56.
This morning while at the college (one of the most beautiful places to walk for exercise) we did our morning walk and almost complete and on way back i handed Leone's leash over to robert and i took off running.
Not far.
Maybe 50 steps.
But I did it!
I jsut wanted to see if i can do it.

In my 20's and 30's I used to run for exercise.

I might work on this...

You are not too old, just have to wrap you in bubble warp my dear!! I will walk briskly, but do not believe in running unless I am being chased by something!

Before my WLS, I NEVER ran, period! Hated it, thought it was for crazy people!

Well, now I am the crazy one! I run on average 12 miles per week, have competed in numerous 5K races, just did a one miler a week ago, and am signed up for my first 10K in 4 weeks.

And I'm 56...

NEVER too old to run!

I never even attempted running until I was 55. I'm 58 now. You're never too old.

I'll never be too old to run, but I'm too stiff in my knees to run. Or ride a bike. I envy you young whippersnappers that can still do all that stuff.

Walk for a bit, then jog for a bit, then walk some more, keep doing that until you are running more than you are walking, and you will not hurt yourself.

Too old to run? That's like asking if you're too old to make love. Get the point?

A little bit of running does the body good.
Make sure you are good and warmed up and that you stretch properly afterwards.

Absolutely not!!!! I started for the first time ever at 46. I never thought I would and I just did.

Maybe it is my age but it really gets to me when people think they can decide what someone should do or wear at a particular age. I feel far better than I did in my 20's and now want to enjoy it by doing whatever I feel like!

Lets show those young ones how it is done!!!!!
