And she's off...

Monday, June 17, 2013

I have been working hard to lose weight this month. June 1 was my starting point. I hit an all time high on the scale and decided this is it. Monday is the day I weigh in. This last week I lost 2.2 pounds bringing my total for the month up to 6 pounds. My goal was to lose 5 pounds a month. I plan to lose 60 pounds so it will take me a full year to lose it if I stick to my 5 pounds a month plan. I am happy to surpass that five pounds. I am going to try to reach 9 pounds by July 1st. Never take a year to do what can be done in 9 months!

Here is how I am doing it.

1. 30 minutes of cardio each day of the month. I have started my days out walking . It is hot and humid but I do it anyway. Most afternoons I hit the gym for another 30 mins.

2. Plan what I will eat the night before. Print out the daily report and check of the food as I eat it. This has been easy to plan but not so easy to stick with it. Checking off the items gives me a sense of accomplishment.

3. Drink 8 glasses of water and no more soda. Soda is a problem for me. I love the feel of a soda in my throat. But I never just drink a soda I also have to eat something with it. And my choices were always less than desirable. I have been successful in stopping almost all soda. So far so good.

4. Support of friends and teammates.

Happy June!!

emoticon Maybe sparkling or seltzer water would be OK once in a while? I also get those cravings for something fizzy.

Keep up the daily exercise - that is emoticon !!

Your doing great Ginger! I too no longer drink soda and relate to liking how it feels in the throat.

    Way to go!!

I know where you are coming from. I came back, after a long absence, on June 8...down almost 3.5 pounds. Seeing your action plan outlined is a super inspiration for me! I need to think more intentionally about mine. Thanks for the push in the right direction!!! emoticon
