I have been working hard to lose weight this month. June 1 was my starting point. I hit an all time high on the scale and decided this is it. Monday is the day I weigh in. This last week I lost 2.2 pounds bringing my total for the month up to 6 pounds. My goal was to lose 5 pounds a month. I plan to lose 60 pounds so it will take me a full year to lose it if I stick to my 5 pounds a month plan. I am happy to surpass that five pounds. I am going to try to reach 9 pounds by July 1st. Never take a year to do what can be done in 9 months!
Here is how I am doing it.
1. 30 minutes of cardio each day of the month. I have started my days out walking . It is hot and humid but I do it anyway. Most afternoons I hit the gym for another 30 mins.
2. Plan what I will eat the night before. Print out the daily report and check of the food as I eat it. This has been easy to plan but not so easy to stick with it. Checking off the items gives me a sense of accomplishment.
3. Drink 8 glasses of water and no more soda. Soda is a problem for me. I love the feel of a soda in my throat. But I never just drink a soda I also have to eat something with it. And my choices were always less than desirable. I have been successful in stopping almost all soda. So far so good.
4. Support of friends and teammates.
