I meant to slow down, but...

Monday, June 17, 2013

I attempted to slow down on my run this morning. I set out focusing on my breathing and form, figuring this would slow me down a little. It didn't work. It has been taking me about 20 minutes to run a 2.1 mile loop, but when I checked the time on today's run I had finished in 17 minutes. What happened? That is three minutes faster than usual! It doesn't make sense to me. Not that I am complaining really...

Got Cooper out for his long morning walk before I set out on my run, so I did about 7 miles of warm up with the dog. I am thinking of going out for a second run after his afternoon walk. I would stick to a shorter loop. I feel really good about the running today and have all sorts of energy. I do have a nasty headache though, so I am going to lie down for a little while and hopefully it will ease up.

A 7 mile warm up? This is why you rock socks.

Great run! Hope your headache goes away. Were you properly hydrated? Not drinking enough water is usually what brings on headaches for me. Take care of yourself.

Sometiems I think keeping to a run, even if it is a slow one, is better than going fast and having to stop and walk. You'll have to test it for yourself tho.

You are running now, eh? I thought the last time I read your blog, you were walking. Yes, I don't think I have come across it in awhile.

Congrats! You had a great run. Maybe the little tweaks you were making on your form could be what made the difference.
