My Fitbit Flex Motivator

Monday, June 17, 2013

Well, this is my 10th day with my Fitbit Flex and I have to say, I really like it. For one thing, I know I am pretty sedentary as I have a desk job, but I do try to work out 5 days a week for at least 30 minutes. But on those other days, I am barely moving! Sure, I go up and down the stairs a few times to refill my water or tea and I go out to get the mail, but that is about it. Now that I have the Fitbit Flex I have set a goal of 10,000 steps a day and I have met that goal for the past 6 days. Some days it has not been easy as I am still recovering from my leg injury, but I still met it. Yesterday I was over 15,000 steps and another day over 12,000. I try and start my morning out with a 15 minute walk before work, take another short break in the afternoon and then try and get to the gym or work out at home in the evening on the elliptical. I know my husband thinks I am a little obsessive, but in a good way.

I also bought some Kettlebells and a introductory DVD. I did my first workout last week. I think I will like it. I had to skip some of the moves due to my leg hurting, like the lunges, but hopefully I'll be doing those soon and hopefully back to running again!

Wow, Noreen! 15,000 steps? emoticon I think I can only imagine walking that much. I have a pedometer but I know it isn't accurate. It doesn't register my steps and I've been considering buying another one. Thank you for posting about your FitBit Flex. I think I'll look into one for myself, if they aren't too expensive.

Also, how do you like the kettleball? I keep looking at them at the store, but I haven't tried them out yet. Perhaps I'll just use them at the gym and skip buying my own for now until I see how well I like them.

May your leg grow stronger with each passing day and be back to full health much sooner than you expect.

That is really awesome. I have a desk job, and I have so much trouble getting in steps during the week. I'm trying to figure out how I can be more active during the day!

Thanks for the motivation to look into the FitBit Flex. Over all, it sounds like you're doing EXACTLY what you need to do, Noreen! Hope your leg heals quickly - I know that cramps your style, and that you miss running.

Hope today is great for you!
:) Gail
