On top of the world

My race could not have gone better. I got 57:45 and beat my best 10k time by 2 mintues! I had that high at the end, that feeling that you can do anything. I even walked up the hills so I must have been running at around 6.2-6.5 miles/hour to make up for it. I have ran the course 4 times now so I knew when I was on the home stretch. It starts and ends at the University of Alberta Butterdome so once I could see the University I knew there couldn't be much more than a kilometre left. My sides were killing me and it was a major struggle to not stop. When I saw the clock as I ran the last 20 steps or so, I almost started crying. The only time I've felt that great was the first time I did that very same race 3 years ago.
Of course, as soon as I got back inside the expo I started coughing uncontrollably for about 20 minutes. My cold had alloweed me to only cough twice during the race so I was willing to take my punishment haha.
Unfortunately the race uncovered a hip problem that I'll have to get checked out. It feels almost like it could pop out at any given moment. Not good. Oh well, I have to make a doctors appointment right away anyway so hopefully she can recommend a chiropractor or something.

In summary, OH HAPPY DAY!!!!

I thought I had a hip problem and it turns out to be a low back nerve issue. Which is really odd since I feel the pain in my hip.
