After a busy week traveling it was nice to have a quiet weekend at home. DH offered to take me out to eat for my birthday yesterday but I was happy to cook.
I did halved sweet potatoes sprinkled with olive oil in the grill pan and they turned out really nice. Once they had nice grill marks I added some water and put the lid on the pan to steam them till they were done.
I did the fresh green beans with 4 rashers of bacon cut up and I grilled a steak with some mushrooms as a nice treat.
No dessert as we had celebrated my birthday last Wednesday with our friends. She made a lovely gluten free lemon tart using less sugar than you would normally find - it was nice and tart. The crust was almonds and gluten free baking flour (not sure what brand she used- I need to get her recipe!)

We had the leftovers at breakfast the next day with fresh strawberries, pineapple and melon - YUM!
