My Two Week Challenge

My daughters are coming to town the first week of July. There are a few things that I want to accomplish before then.

1. Get back into a schedule of getting up and moving early. Have my exercises and walk done before 10.
2. Clean and organize condo well. I know it's only my girls, but the condo is actually my youngest daughter's. And I could really use some incentive to do so.
3. Eat and drink REALLY healthy - get a variety to what I eat.
4. Come up with some free or relatively cheap fun things to do that we haven't done before.

If anyone has any ideas on what we can do, please let me know.

    Golly, it is nearly July! How are you doing with your cleaning challenge? I concentrate on a room a day, then when I've been round the house, start again with a different spring clean focus. So, tidy and quick dust and floors.Then do the skirting boards, sills and doors. Then mirrors and windows. Then walls. Then light shades and ceilings.
    Bathroom fixtures and fittings get their own day, also the kitchen appliances. Bim bam bom it's all done.

    As for fun things to do, what about walking in the park and a picnic lunch? The beach? Art galleries and museums? Any local tourist attractions?

    I have gotten in the habit of setting a timer for a task. Since I still have younger children, I ask them to help me guess how much time it will take to do something. Then it becomes a game rather than a "have to." I rearranged a room in about a half an hour two days back that might have taken two hours a couple years ago. I had more motivation since a friend would be staying overnight, but I also continued the task yesterday just getting the space arranged.

    Make a list of the goals. Make them achievable. You can do this. Just approach one task at a time once you know the tasks! emoticon emoticon

    Generally I find daunting tasks less intimidating if I break them up into small steps/goals. Maybe that would work for you.

    I like to get going early before it gets hot out. I can't give any suggestions for fun things to do because I don't know what your girls like or what you like. Maybe let them make some suggestions.
