THE POWER OF SIN
We are all called together to live for Godís purpose and not our own. When we do things that are not part of Godís plan, we are giving into temptation and the things of the world. God has a purpose for us and doing what we want rather than what He wants is just wasting time. When we are tempted to do wrong things or simply do nothing, we need to go to God and ask Him what we should be doing and do it. Stepping out for God and resisting the temptation to do nothing will lead us to Godís purpose for Him.
Romans 7:23 ďBut there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me.Ē (NLT)
Dear Lord, we know that we struggle daily with the power of sin. We know there are things we should be doing but we give into temptation and donít do them. Help us today, Lord, to resist the power of sin and reach for Your mighty power. Please calm the war within our minds today so we may have peace knowing You are leading us, watching over us and taking care of us and that we are doing Your will. In Jesusí name. Amen.
Doing Godís will rather than our own will give us peace.
The power of sin causes us to have doubts about what we are doing for God.
We need to give into temptation only when we donít care what God thinks and we donít care about what the outcome will be.
The power of sin can be destroyed by the power of God.
No one and no thing is mightier than the power of God. He can help us through all things and help us to resist temptation.
Godís word is powerful and able to help us resist temptation, turn from our wicked ways and take action for Him.
Hebrews 4:12 ďFor the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.Ē (NLT)
