Day 46 and 47 - 5th Year Sparkversary!

My fifth sparkversary came and went yesterday!

I was busy working in our yard - cleaning up pine needles... pics of the trees and my yard.

(my apple tree came down by a strong wind.. the trees I am working under are like the two big pine trees (we have about 20 on our property).

I was in so much pain yesterday I took two pain meds last night, my bad ankle!!

I am creating new goals monthly and meeting them!
I have found sitdown videos for working out on spark and I use them most everyday - my goal is 5 of 7 days!

Things that I have changed - that are now habit and natural

Don and I now split most cuts of meat in half - I only buy lean meat

we eat a lettuce salad every day- keeping ingrediants to 3! Sometimes I eat two of them (lunch and dinner) no dressings!

we eat more fruits
emoticon emoticon emoticon

we eat fiber one cereal

I have never been one to drink pop, but Don was a big pop drinker... he is now drinking mostly water - not my 10 servings a day, but close to 6! We go through a 35 pack of water a week!

I no longer buy junk food! Who says eating healthy is more expensive?! I am actually spending less money on groceries than before SPARK.

I am finally setting goals to lose weight and I am succeeding! (I lost one more this week - weigh in day is Friday)sooooo I have lost 12 pounds in the last 7 weeks - emoticon emoticon emoticon

Don now takes walks with me

I am doing some activity every day! even if only 10 minutes on my off days...
I love spark videos that I can do from my chair! I make sure I do two good cardio workouts a week... my goal is to increase to three days in two weeks. My goal right now is 45 - 60 minutes 2-3 days a week, builing up to 4-5 days a week.

When I have a bad day with my ankle or my chronic kidney disease - I take the day! Do what I have to do and pick up the next day that I can and move forward!

Going to school full-time takes it toll on me. I have to finish so I can work.

In my five years on spark I have gained much health!! That was my original goal when I joined spark 5 yrs ago. I have let 6 specialists go and have lowered my cholesterol (no meds! only the spark way!), maintain my chronic kidney disease, migrains, sinus and allergies, and chronic pain.

I am doing this and so can YOU!

My happy stance last Sept.

    You are doing so well this year! With everything else you have going on, it's amazing you find time to squeeze in some exercise!

    (Now, if I can just convince you to stop buying plastic bottles of water....)
