We had a really fun Father's Day party today!
My family all came over and we got to eat out on the porch and talk while our son played around us. We also had everyone's favorite goodies- homemade cherry pie (cherries from our tree), cake, cookies, and pizza.
And now our challenge starts! My husband is giving up all pop and focusing on healthier choices, and I am giving up all sugar and focusing on healthier choices. My dh had already done really well on drinking tea instead of pop for several months now, so not a major change for him at this point. Still, good to continue that goal!
My crutch is sugar to push me through the day when I get so tired, but it is causing a lot of problems too (of course). So tonight I have started my no sugar for a week challenge! I'm really hoping by the end of the week I can continue, but it feels so big to say "no more sugar except special occasions" right from the start. I made sure there weren't any desserts left over from today's party. I took leftover cherry pie to a neighbor and made little doggy bags for all my family members. We are ready. I'm nervous, but tomorrow will be fun! (Right?)
